"Only when you push yourself to your limits to you get stronger.”
No one knows pain and the satisfaction of pushing through it like Kasey and Mike Robberts. They have both accomplished amazing feats over the last couple of years that most would think impossible.
Kasey got started by hiking the entire Appalachian trail solo in 2005. She has devoted the last couple years of her life to achieving “lead” woman status- completing the Leadville Marathon, Silver Rush 50mile mountain bike race, Leadville 100 mountain bike race, Leadville 10k, and the Leadville 100 Trail Run, all in the same season!
Mike was diagnosed
over 2 years ago with GIST, a type of stomach cancer that has spread throughout his entire body. He was an avid triathlete before the diagnosis and continues to train and compete through the pain of chemotherapy. Mike will be competing in the Ford Ironman in Cozumel this year.
To Mike and Kasey, true strength is the power of the mind to overcome the fatigue of the body and push just a little harder to do something others think unobtainable!
In Kasey’s words, “Life is not going to happen unless we each make it happen!”
They are still searching for a treatment that will cure Mike.
