Overcome life's extreme obstacles by overcoming your State of Mind
When you can't do or have something is when you miss and appreciate it the most.

When I look back to my experiences with running, and specifically trail running it seems as I was always drawn to it.
I was on the cross country team for one year in high school…

It is amazing what some women can while pregnant. I had grandiose ideas of what I'd be doing and able to do while pregnant- although I did quite a bit as long as I could no longer am I running up my favorite trails, mostly just a slow waddle,
I really admire women like Kara Groucher, and Olympic runner who continued training throughout pregnancy.
I was amazed to learn that she was running 80 miles some weeks, I don't think I even did that when training for a marathon before…

My husband Scott and I spent 2 months in South East Asia on our honeymoon in 2007. Our goal was to try to run in every new place we went so this is the start of that account.
Hanoi, Vietnam, October 2007
We were in complete culture shock when we first arrived in the city. In the cab ride over to the hotel we had booked the roads were completely packed with people on motorbikes and bicycles. We were one of very few taxis and cars on the road. Now…

This will be a new blog series following Lauren Jones, a runner, mountain biker and snowboarder as she adapts to the struggles and triumps of training and staying active throughout pregnancy.
Post #1:
I will never complain of being tired again. Period. I never knew true tiredness until I became pregnant. Sure, we all have those days that we kind of drag. Days we just don't feel motivated to go to workout, go on a run or do anything for that…

These blog posts will not be in chronological order, I am just writing when memories come up of amazing runs I have done at places all around the globe!
One of my most memorable runs was just last January in Lima, Peru.
My husband, mom and I had taken 7 weeks off to explore South America and were
staying in a beautiful hotel hotel near the square that held all of the main
governmental buildings: president's house, parliament house, etc.…

I posted this blog a couple weeks ago on a endurance running site and received quite a few responses back about the topic- most agreed and were happy to share their own stories about how they are still growing strong despite the aches and pains accompanied with an aging body. I did have several though that strongly disagreed. The body they aregued does age and our time participating in endurance sports is limited. What do you think?…
